  • Cold or flu symptoms

  • Open wounds in the treatment area

Guidelines for receiving treatment:

Within 2-3 days:

  • Facial waxing/threading: waxed/threaded area can be safely avoided with most treatments including basic facials, microdermabrasion, dermaplaning, and hydrodermabrasion. If you received a full-face wax within 2-3 days, it is recommended to use gentle and calming products during your treatment.

  • Discontinue retinol and chemical exfoliants including hair removal creams at least 48 hours prior to customized facial with standard exfoliation (see below for other treatment guidelines). Please let me know if you have questions about a specific product you are using at home, since strength and potency of these actives can vary.

Within 5-7 days:

  • Discontinue use of Retin-A (tretinoin), Differin, EpiDuo, or any retinoid at least 5-7 days prior to customized facial, microdermabrasion, hydrodermabrasion, or dermaplaning, depending on strength and sensitivity level. *If you have used within 5 days, you may receive a gentle relaxation facial, as long as your skin barrier is not compromised.

  • Retinol (over-the-counter) should be discontinued at least 7 days before a chemical peel or microneedling depending on strength and sensitivity level.

  • It is not recommended to receive a chemical peel or microneedling if you are currently on antibiotics, or have taken them in the last 7-14 days. Depending on your skin’s sensitivity level, antibiotics can make your skin more reactive to certain actives and ingredients. Gentle products can be used during a standard facial if you are unsure how your skin reacts to your medication.

Within 14 days:

  • Botox or filler, please wait at least 14 days to receive any facial.

  • Wait 14 days after microdermabrasion, hydrodermabrasion, dermaplaning, microneedling, microblading or chemical peel to receive any facial.

  • Discontinue use of Retin-A (tretinoin), Differin, EpiDuo, or any retinoid at least 14 days prior to a chemical peel or microneedling.

  • Please wait 14 days after waxing, threading, or using hair removal creams to receive a chemical peel or microneedling.

Within 30 days:

  • IPL/Photofacial, please wait at least 30 days

  • PDO Threads, please wait at least 30 days

  • Wait 30 days in between advanced exfoliation/treatments such as chemical peels, microneedling, dermaplaning, hydrodermabrasion, etc. Depending on the integrity of your skin, you may receive a standard facial 2 weeks in between advanced treatments.
